Experts with no expertise

Truth Be Told facebook page provides a good summary of the points made in Scott's brief about two so-called experts that testified at trial.  If you aren't already following this facebook page, I highly recommend it.

The DAs are not dummies -- they knew, as we now know, that there was a lot of evidence that showed that Laci went into the Bay after December 24, 2002 -- not only did that open the way for someone else to have put her there, it made it virtually impossible for Scott to have done so.  The only way they could cover up, or mitigate this exonerating evidence, was to create the illusion, through phony experts, of a direct link between Scott and the recovery sites.

Grant, the SII chatroom is open. Go to http://pwc-sii.com/forum/index.php. Registrtion is disabled because we've been hit by spammers, but post on the Read This Before you Register thread, which is open to the public, and I'll get you registered. We'd love to have you.

Grant, I did leave a couple of comments, but will not likely be able to spend a lot of time there. You and a few others seem to have all the bases covered.

Insomnia? No wonder we think alike. That's been my plague for months. I am just recovering from a bout of it. Good luck.

I checked that forum out. My impression is that it's the same there as it is elsewhere: people who don't read the links and the research.
It's always nice to have access to powerful opinion-makers, but it does no good if they are too busy to take a look at the evidence and argue fairly, and with respect, before pronouncing judgement.

I personally have not got a lot of stomach for the knee-jerk dismissal that's been directed at Mr. Peterson AND at those of us who question the verdict.

The "educated" version of this is just as offensive to me as the illiterate version.

For the insomnia, try powdered magnesium drink before bed. Peter Gillham's "Natural Calm" sometimes helps me and it's reasonably priced at Vitacost.

Grant, I wouldn't waste any more time on IA -- I thought they would be open-minded because they advocated for Amanda when the whole world thought she was as guilty as sin, but they are not. They're stuck on the least important details and reject the most important evidence because we are not experts. Intellectual snobbery.

I looked over there to see if the conversation had improved, but on the last page, a question Jane asked one of the posters about "is it really OK that the Modesto PD didn't investigate all these thing" listing the Aponte tip, Dalton's witnesses, and a number of other important problems---got an unresponsive response; another post acknowledged the superior library of articles, transcripts and analysis here on pwc-sii.com, but stated that the reading was only confirming her sense of guilt (however, no specific references were made). And another person, the person whose forum it is I believe, said the people posting there were leading him to confirm his impression of Peterson's guilt. Since Jane couldn't seem to get an answer to a reasonable question, and there's no real attempt I can see to read and respond to your analyses, Marlene---it doesn't seem like a conversation that's even interesting...
I'll check back from time to time and see if it changes...

Oh and who is "Traci's voice of Sanity.." do they think VOS is a woman named Traci?

The benefit of these forums is to expose the tenacity of the guilty-opinion. That helps us sharpen our own arguments.
