The downside to the story is that bloodhounds didn't find the toddler after searching for hours, even though the toddler was just across the street in a backyard, having left a very direct and relatively short trail for the bloodhounds to track.

Doesn't say much for the bloodhounds, does it....
I'd like to know if they made some alerts, or if they just were not able to pick up a scent.
